THE COMPANY “TARA 2016 S” OWNED BY NOVAK AND JELENA DJOKOVIC IS GIVING THE DORCOL TENNIS COURTS BACK TO THE CITY OF BELGRADE

The company “Tara 2016 S”, owned by Novak and Jelena Djokovic, has decided to return the land and the facilities within the Novak Tennis Center on Dorćol to the City of Belgrade.

“We have thought for a long time and made a not-so-easy decision to stop with our operations and management of the property, and facilities, and the keeping of this tennis oasis after more than ten years. With great gratitude, we return the land to the City of Belgrade.

Tens of thousands of children have learned tennis at this place and, together with their parents, created memories and successes that will last forever. Our company has organized seven international ATP tournaments, and one WTA tournament, received the best ratings for the organization, and sent the most beautiful picture of Belgrade, Kalemegdan, and Serbia to the whole world. That is what we are proud of.

We would like to thank all the competent representatives of local self-government, the City of Belgrade, the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of Sports, the Tennis Federation of Serbia, and numerous companies for the tremendous help and support of all the previous years. Thank you to the thousands of people who spent time at the tennis center and with us, created progress and successes and unforgettable moments. Lastly, we owe a huge gratitude to our employees who believed in our project and vision. We are sure that this place will remain the sports soul of Dorcol and Belgrade.

The Board of Directors of our company will focus on new projects, some of which will continue to deal with the development of children and youth tennis. This will be informed to the public in a timely manner,” Tara 2016 S stated in a statement.
